Safaris start from as little as £150 for a 2 day one overnight safari to Tsavo East. There are large lodges, and an even wider choice of smaller and cheaper lodges. Camping safaris are also very exciting and very safe, the prices for a camping safari are cheaper and at the lodges your meals are included.
Lala Salama (which means sleep) is usually early as the game drives start around 6am, but do not be surprised if you are awakened in the middle of the night because a lion, or elephant has arrived at the waterhole (see Discover Voi Lodge).

This safari is a 13 day beach/flight safari holiday. All inclusive beach hotel and full board in safari lodges.
DAY 1:
5.30 A.M. Transfer to the airport in Mombasa to catch an early flight to Nairobi.
Drive from Nairobi to Samburu arriving in time for lunch and relaxing before the evening
game drive in the Samburu game reserve.
Dinner and overnight in the Samburu Serena lodge.
DAY 2:
Full day game drive in the Samburu game reserve in search of the big five. Dinner and overnight in the Samburu Serena Lodge.
DAY 3:
After breakfast drive to Nakuru national park, game drive en route to the lodge for lunch.
Evening game drive and a visit to Lake Nakuru to view its famous Flamingo's, the white and black rhinos, also other animals in plenty.
Dinner and overnight in either Sarova lion hill lodge or lake Nakuru lodge.
DAY 4:
After breakfast drive to Masai Mara game reserve arriving in time for lunch.
Again you will have time to settle in and take in the exciting feel of the Mara before you take an evening game drive in search of the wildlife. Dinner and overnight in the Mara Sarova luxury camp.
DAY 5:
Full day game drive with a picnic lunch. A visit to the Mara River, the migration route of the wild beast from Serengeti of Tanzania to
Masai Mara Kenya and vice versa.
An optional visit to the Masai village in the evening before you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6:
After breakfast drive to Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley.
Lunch at the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi.
After lunch drive to Amboseli game reserve with en route game drive to Amboseli Serena lodge.

DAY 7:
After breakfast make an en route game drive out of the park.
Drive to Mombasa with lunch in Voi town.

However this will depend if you start the safari immediately or after a one-week stay in the coastal hotel and also your flight schedule.
You can combine the above safari plus a 6 night 'all inclusive' stay in the Neptune Paradise hotel in Diani Beach.
All the above lodges are 5 star, if you decide you would like to stay in cheaper accommodation (and they are all good standard) the above price will reduce. Prices will also change slightly depending upon the season you decide to go. The above is an idea only, it can be changed to stay maybe 3 days on the beach 7 days safari and then back to the beach for the remainder of your holiday.

Mombasa has a wealth of history, lots of small winding streets, with some house 500years old
The history of Mombasa is believed to be as early as A.D. 150 when Ptolemy marked the town on his map. In 1498 a Portuguese, fleet commanded by Vasco da Gamma called at Mombasa and for the next 200 years, the Portuguese ruled the area. The construction of Fort Jesus, built to protect the town was started in 1593.

In 1652, the Omani Arabs took over control and in 1837 the sultan of Zanzibar defeated these rulers and remained in control of the Mombasa Island until 1896 when the area became a British protectorate by treaty.

Kilimanjaro trekking has several routes among them is the Marangu Route, Mweka Route, Machame route and Umbwe among others. On this trek you climb this Marangu route, which is the easiest one available. No mountain climbing skills are required to reach the summit, however it is essential that you be in good physical condition. Throughout the trek a professional mountain guide and porters will accompany you. The porter will carry your gear. The only items you are recommended to carry yourself are water, camera and anything else you will need close at hand
Day 1
Mombasa or Nairobi - Moshi
You will spend an overnight at the mountain's base hotel
Day 2 Moshi - Mandara (2,275 m 17,462 ft)
After breakfast you will be driven to Marangu gate. This is the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro National park. From here you will walk through the rainforest to you first overnight stop at Mandara Hut situated at 2,725 meters
Day 3 Mandara Hut - Horombo (3,780 m/12,398 ft)
Experience the landscape change from rolling moor lands on this day walk. After approximately 5 hours walk along the broad path you will arrive at Horombo Hut situated at 3780 meters where you spend the night.
Day 4 Horombo Hut - Kibo Hut (4,740 m/15,547 ft)
Set off very early and continue up to the dry and rugged saddle area between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Overnight in Kibo Hut situated at 4,740 meters.
Day 5 Kibo -The summit (5,685 m/18,647 ft) - Horombo
The last part of the ascent starts a few hours after midnight. The air is now very thin and the next five hours will be the most demanding of the whole trek as you push on to Gillmans point at 5685 meters. However, you are richly rewarded as the first rays of the morning sun appear and Africa lies at your feet. If you are not too tired and if the snow conditions permit you can continue after a short rest on the final walk up to Uhuru peak at a height of 5685 meters - the highest point in Africa! Descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.
Day 6 Horombo - Base Hotel
You will easily descent along the familiar paths to Marangu Gate. At this point you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.
Day 7 Base Hotel - Mombasa or Nairobi.
Return to Nairobi/Mombasa through Namanga/Taveta boarder.

Visit Fort Jesus the 15th century Portuguese fortress, the old sea port which is still used to transport some cargo to Zanzibar and Somalia.
